TECHNOLOGIES AND AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR
THE PROCESSES OF SINTERING AND BLAST-FURNACE PRODUCTION
TECHNOLOGY OF COVERING THE BLAST-FURNACE AIR TUYERES WITH CERMET COATING.
There exist different methods of the blast-furnace air tuyeres treatment with the object of increasing their durability and reducing the heat pick-up: facing with heat-resistant cast iron (OJSC "Tyazhmash", Mariupol), facing by means of electron-beam method of powder metallurgy (Strength and Material Authority Institute of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk) and others.
The mentioned technologies have a number of essential drawbacks:
- stationarity of the applied equipment (furnaces, vacuum plants etc.);
- low results in increasing the durability of the tuyeres;
- lack of positive results in reducing the heat pick-up from the tuyeres;
- high cost of the technology and the equipment.
The RPC "Donix" has developed a technology of covering the blast-furnace air tuyeres with a special cermet coating which allows to increase the durability of the tuyeres by two or three times and at the same time to reduce the heat pick-up from the cooled tuyeres by 15 ( 30%. This technology can be used directly on the territory of a metallurgical plant where tuyeres are used and it doesn't require significant capital layouts.
The purpose of the technology:
- to protect the working surface of the tuyere from the abrasive wear, chemical attack and different kinds of thermal radiation;
- to reduce the heat load on the tuyere;
- to diminish the expenses for heat removal from the working zone.
The technology is introduced at:
Donetsk Metallurgical Works, Makeevka Integrated Metallurgical Works.
